Benefiting from Industrial Ethernet at the Device Level with Smart Remote I/O and Peer-to-Peer Technology

There can be too much of a good thing, or so goes the old saying. Fortunately, new technology can come to the rescue, at least in certain cases. For example, an industrial enterprise can grow too big for efficient automation control using traditional technology. However, advances in industrial Ethernet can provide a solution, if such techniques as smart remote I/O and peer-to-peer technology are implemented.
