PID Control Design Beyond the Recipe

Addressed in this paper are: Traditional PID recipes, how they work, and the results they achieve; and How to perform a direct design of your system to specifications using SimApp. SimApp is a software product that offers designers a way to model their control problem and design solutions that achieve appropriate performance in the face of non-ideal plants, parameter variations, disturbances or non-linear elements. The final result may be a traditional PID system, or a control system that is custom-tuned for the actual situation
